DANNY BEN ARIE

Danny Ben Arie was born in Argentina and immigrated to Israel at the age of seventeen. Coming from a traditional Jewish family, his connection to Jewish heritage and spirituality has remained a central influence throughout his life. When he first arrived in Israel, Danny used his unique calligraphy skills to make ends meet, hand-writing Passover Haggadot on scrolls to support himself during those early years.

After building a successful career in business and technology, Danny returned to his lifelong passion for art. He is now devoted himself fully to painting, working independently and exploring abstract expression through diverse materials. His practice combines acrylics, ink, and natural elements across various surfaces including canvas, wood, and metal, creating rich textures and layered compositions.

Danny's work reflects two distinct artistic directions. His abstract acrylic paintings explore color, texture, and form through intuitive mark-making and material experimentation. In parallel, he creates pieces that incorporate Hebrew calligraphy inspired by Jewish traditions, merging his deep connection to Jewish heritage with contemporary visual language. These works echo his early calligraphic practice while expressing a mature artistic vision that bridges sacred lettering and abstract painting.

His art operates as a visual language rooted in personal experience, cultural memory, and spiritual resonance. Each piece invites viewers into a contemplative encounter, allowing them to find their own meaning within the abstract forms and calligraphic gestures.
In recent years, Danny has participated in group exhibitions in Israel and abroad, and has presented solo exhibitions including "Color and Nature" and "Retrospective."
